Animal Care Center of St. John
The Animal Care Center of St. John (ACC) addresses the problems of cruelty, neglect, and abuse of the island animals by providing kennels for homeless dogs and inside cages for homeless cats. Volunteers are needed to help walk dogs and take care of the cats at 8:30 AM and 3 PM Monday - Friday.
The ACC has volunteers across St John who establish and maintain free-roaming cat feeding stations. At these locations, free-roaming cats are trapped and taken to the local vet who tests for diseases, vaccinates, and spays or neuters the cat before they are returned to the feeding station.
The ACC conducts three major fundraisers each year beginning with a gala for the animals in January, the Wagapalooza dog show in May, and a "No Fleas Please" Flea Market in October.
